Letter writing day for people inside

Today we set up in Todd Mall, Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and wrote letters to family and friends who will spend christmas in jail. It was hard writing letters thinking of how we were sitting on grass directly under the blue sky, getting food and talking about upcoming trips. We are in solidarity with those locked up. Shut the prison industrial complex down.

We also stood in solidarity with the family of Eric Whittaker, who died in custody in hospital shackled to his hospital bed, and stood in silence in respect.  “There was no dignity, it’s like he’s an animal … It’s not as if he could get up and run away”

No more deaths in custody.
